Welcome

The Greater Indianapolis Progress Committee exists to provide a forum in which leaders of the public and private sector of Indianapolis can work as partners to study, discuss, and address issues of concern and areas of opportunity which affect the progress of the City.

Since its inception in 1965, the Progress Committee has played a major role in bringing together people and representatives from all sectors of the community to solve problems. As an advisory arm to Mayor Gregory A. Ballard, GIPC represents a bipartisan alliance that is a continuing example of the public-private partnership that has played such a vital role in the success of Indianapolis.

Whether involved in enhancing the existing community by means of task forces such as, the Community Crime Prevention Task Force or the Transportation Task Force, or through providing a forum for better racial understanding in the community, through the Race Relations Leadership Network, the Greater Indianapolis Progress Committee will continue to be a part of the future of progress of Indianapolis.
